Asymmetrical/Unilateral Gynecomastia - Patient 28
This is a 25 year old male, who is 6'0 and 170 lbs, from Westport, CT. He had been suffering from Asymmetrical Gynecomastia, a condition that results from the abnormal formation of glandular tissue located underneath one breast causing the afflicted breast to become larger than the other breast. The patient felt self-conscious about his enlarged left breast and did not feel comfortable removing his shirt in public. He often layered his clothing to better conceal the condition. He sought the expertise of Dr. Blau, board certified plastic surgeon and a diplomat of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons for a consultation. Dr. Blau is renowned world-wide as the utmost authority in Gynecomastia surgery and over 50% of his practice is dedicated to the correction of the condition. The patient was further impressed to learn that Dr. Blau is an award-winning painter and sculptor. Male breast reduction surgery was performed, excising the glandular tissue in the afflicted left breast along with liposculpture to ensure symmetry over the entire chest area. The incision is only an inch in diameter and inconspicuous. The patient is thrilled with the outcome and is enjoying a new self-confidence that he had not possessed prior to the procedure.
