Gynecomastia in Adolescents - Patient 30
This 17 year old male from Toronto, Canada, suffered from a condition called Puffy Nipples, one of the most common forms of Gynecomastia, in which there is an abnormal accumulation of glandular tissue concentrated beneath the male breast, causing the nipples to be extended farther than normal. It is a condition that can affect up to 60% a male adolescents and is typically evident between the ages of 12 and 18. He and his parents traveled from Canada to seek the expertise of Dr. Blau, board certified plastic surgeon with over 20 years experience and a diplomat of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Gynecomastia (male breast reduction) surgery was performed with the excision of the glandular tissue and a small amount of liposuction. The procedure was less than an hour in length. The incision is in a discreet location and one year following the surgery, it is unable to be seen.
