Gynecomastia in Adolescents - Patient 5
This 14 year old teen from Delaware County, PA, suffered from a condition known as Gynecomastia, where there is an increase in the male breast tissue causing it to become over-developed. He was becoming increasingly self-conscious during school activities that required him to remove his shirt, such as gym class and swimming. His parents took him to see his pediatrician who explained that the condition often appears in adolescents between 8 to 12 years old and up to 30% must endure the condition for the remainder of their lives. At 14 years of age, the teen was unhappy to learn the condition had not resolved on its own. At the recommendation of his pediatrician, he and his parents decided upon Gynecomastia (male breast reduction) surgery to correct the condition. The teen and his parents consulted with Dr. Mordcai Blau, board certified plastic surgeon with over 20 years experience, after learning that he is a world-authority and accomplished author on the subject of Gynecomastia and that he has corrected the condition for many other teenagers. Surgery was performed with an excision of the head and tail of the enlarged glandular tissue. The incision is only 1” in diameter and in a discreet location below the areola. This young man was very happy with the results and that he no longer has to feel insecure in public situations in which he must remove his shirt. His parents were also pleased with Dr. Blau's expertise. Dr. Blau has consulted with many other patients from the Philadelphia, PA area. To schedule a consultation, call his office at 914-428-4700.
